There’s something about having a go-to spot with your child. For Mnemo and me, that place is anywhere with pasta and good coffee. It’s where lazy afternoons, quick catch-ups, or just somewhere we can be alone but still together. one of our most recent faves is UCC Clockwork.

Usually we start with a tasty appetizer. This time we shared an Okonomiyaki, the savory Japanese pancake that’s as fun to eat as it is to look at. Fluffy but hearty, drizzled with mayo and that sweet-salty sauce, it’s our warm-up for everything else we plan to devour.
Then comes the Truffle Mushroom Pasta, which Mnemo was curious with. I’ve had this before, but it was my 7-year-old’s first time to try truffle. It never fails to make me pause mid-bite just to appreciate the aroma. It’s creamy, earthy, and indulgent. Mnemo loved it, she ordered a second one.
For dessert, and this is Mnemo’s choice (again), the S’mores Feast. It’s everything your inner child dreams of. Gooey marshmallows, melted chocolate, graham crackers, Biscoff biscuits, pretzels. We laugh, we make a mess, and we somehow always scrape the plate clean. it’s soooo good I want to make one at home.
And for me, no visit is complete without my forever favorite: Kori Kohi. I didn’t have a good picture that time, sorry. But I promise to update this as soon as we go back. We try to explore more cafes, so for sure we’ll get another version of a “good coffee”. But UCC’s Kori Kohi? Cold coffee cubes slowly melting into creamy milk. The flavor deepens with every sip, and it’s the one thing I never skip, no matter what else we order. If it’s possible to get a whole tub of those ice cube coffee, I’ll definitely raise a hand.
At the end of the day, it’s not just about the food (though the food is UHHmazing. It’s about sitting beside Mnemo, watching her enjoy each bite, and knowing we’ve built a little tradition here with my mini me.
Do you and your family or friends have a go-to spot with your forever favorites? I’d love to hear what dishes make your moments extra special!
