People from Manila have tons of reasons why they love Tagaytay as a weekend go-to place. And one of those is the Instagrammable views and vibes of the place, not to mention the restaurants from around Tagaytay that we love to try more than once. Like for example this cute cafe at Twin Lakes Shopping Village – Purple Beetle.
The first time I got to experience the place and the food was with my What To Eat fam during our roadtrip and food crawl in Tagaytay. We also got to stay at the Twin Lakes Hotel and it was aaawwweeessssoommmee!
If you want a quick trip during the rainy days to feel more the cold (kasi minsan lang to sa mga atga Maynila, bes) Tagaytay is probably the best place to hang out at. I usually go there with friends and family to enjoy the cold weather and the food (of course!) and one of the restaurants I loved is Purple Beetle.
During the ECQ, they offered pick up and delivery for quite some time, and just last week, I heard they just re-opened the restaurant for dine-in subject to social and health protocols. If only I can visit them right away!
I’d love you to go and check the place but of course, please always put health at the top of your priorities.
But in case you have the means to go there safely or you lice nearby that delivery would not cost you too much, here are the short list of dishes I recommend you to try:
Ceasar Salad
When I dine in restaurant and I see ceasar salad in their menu, I will definitely order it. I am a super fan of ceasar salad and I’m picky about it. I like it tasty with enough dressing, yet feels fresh from the greens. Purple Beetle’s Ceasar Salad is served with just the perfect salad I like, plus a toast with egg which make it even more yummier.
Cheese Burger
Like other cheese burgers, Purple Beetle’s is just right for someone who craves for a bite. Served with french fries and a dip, this cheese burger is just worth the price.
Carbonara
Another thing I enjoyed is their pasta (I bet the other pastas are good too!) I was expecting less because it came with a little sauce than I thought it should have, but it still tasted good.
Mango-Graham Smoothie
Mango-Graham is a no-fail dessert, and as expected, this became my favorite smoothie in Tagaytay so far.
Cafe Latte
And of course, you won’t enjoy Tagaytay if you don’t get to experience their coffee. We had a cup of cafe latte that afternoon and it made my day. >3
