Level up your Iloilo foodie experience at The Granary, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo

Food is the fuel we need to make the most out of our every day hustle, and of course, to enjoy more of our travel experiences. And aside from the usual “carinderia” where local home-cooked food is definitely a must-try, hotel restaurants are also an option especially when you are looking forward to a more convenient and upscale foodie experience.

Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here.  I travel a lot for both work and leisure. Thanks to being an auditor and a content creator and, of course, to my love for travel, I barely feel I’m actually at work when traveling. And if  I’m actually off work, I usually am with friends or family, discovering places and trying out new food. I’m juggling three jobs – the two mentioned + being a single mom. You think it’s easy? Of course not! But what glues me together is my passion and love for these three. More about my story here.

I love sharing what I know and how I do things, so if you haven’t read these yet, visit the following pages to view:

Speaking of “upscale”, I am very excited to share my experience at The Granary. Richmonde Iloilo offers an upscale buffet experience at a low price. From the usual cost of P1,000-3,500 to dine in a comfortable hotel restaurant, The Granary can actually give you the same great dining experience for just as much as P950*.  For less than a thousand peso (PHP), you can allow yourself to enjoy a wide variety of all-you-can-eat dishes for dinner, while buffet breakfast costs only at P675*.

The Granary is an all-day dining restaurant in Richmonde Hotel Iloilo and was actually inspired by the well-known reputation of the region as the rice granary of Western Visayas.

Among many buffet restaurants around the country, we do not expect too much on the taste of the food since they’re served far from the city we are used to. I’ve been staying in a hotel more than the usual because of my job, and I have to admit, almost all serve the same dishes. They are becoming so common, that I think they already taste the same. Finding the unusual is never easy.

What amazed me is that every dish in the buffet area of The Granary may be common, but the flavors are richer than I expected. I got too many favorites I wish I can get in Manila. Kudos to the Sous Chef, Jeffrey Ticao, for taking the restaurant to another level. Making a stop at one station is like visiting a small restaurant where you can mix and match your favorite meals, and even request for special menus or plating.

As a general comment, The Granary is one of the most tranquil restaurants that offers great food and service and that I would love to come back for.

Wrap-up

There’s nothing in two days and one night of my stay there that I fell out of love with Richmonde. From the hotel facilities, the rooms, the people, to the food, my Richmonde Hotel experience was perfect. Too sad we really had to go the next day because we only have five days to explore the BIGG!

How about you?
