Baguio city in 2022
This was a family trip on March 2022, just written and posted late. Lol. I have a ton of food, places, and books to write and talk about, but to be honest, I have this 'mañana' habit I could never get rid of and I've got this until now so... Bright side, the travel protocols have loosen now BUT stay safe and do not show too much confidence yet. I mean health is STILL our wealth!
After a couple or three years, I was finally able to go out of town with the fam. We were supposed to go to Tagaytay however there was an emergency there that specific day but everything is already ready and to manage expectations from every member of the fam we instead go to Baguio. I don’t prefer Baguio during the summer because the crowd is just so uncomfortable, but Mnemo hasn’t been there yet so I said okay let’s go. Not our first choice, but here we are talking about it.Â
Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here. I travel a lot for both work and leisure. Thanks to being an auditor and a content creator and, of course, to my love for travel, I barely feel I’m actually at work when traveling. And if I’m actually off work, I usually am with friends or family, discovering places and trying out new food. I’m juggling three jobs – the two mentioned + being a single mom. You think it’s easy? Of course not! But what glues me together is my passion and love for these three. More about my story here.
I love sharing what I know and how I do things, so if you haven’t read these yet, visit the following pages to view:
- how I take and edit my blog photos + what devices and apps I use;
- how I plan my travels;
- how I treat my sunburns (from the mildest to the wildest!); and
- what do I get from traveling, by the way?

My mom suffered from stroke last year (2021) and still just recovering from it up to now. It is a difficult task though to find wheelchair-friendly spots that my mom would enjoy. Since we were craving sooooo much for some cold weather, we planned to go to Tagaytay, the nicest nearby city from Manila you can feel the cold. But unfortunately, Tall volcano had a tantrum the night before.Â
Our transpo was already booked so thought “sayang naman”, and decided to find another place we can just go on a road trip to. And where do Manilanans go if they’re looking for a good, cold, summer vacay?Â
Where to go around Baguio
I’ve been to Baguio so many times I feel like I’ve been to all spots and restos and cafes around the city already. Which of course I haven’t yet. So I’m glad we’ve gone to other places than White Palace and Burnham Park this time. I was hoping for more stops, but we had to consider my mom wh’os in a wheelchair, a toddler who’s carsick, and our super limited time.
Strawberry Farm
+ Â No admission fees but we got our strawberries for 250php (maybe half a kilo) per bag.Â
Mnemo loves strawberries. So we are all excited to bring her to the famous strawberry farm. It was not a peak season (at least for strawberries) when we got there. We managed to get two bags from a farmer/vendor, but I knew we could get it in a cheaper price during peak season. If you ask Google, it will redirect you to answers that strawberry picking is a lot more fun between March to May, but I heard from someone when we were in the farm, December to February is also okay. Not sure how true, but I guess everything can be affected by climate change or just the chismis.
Sky Ranch
Sky Ranch Baguio is quite new to me, but they’ve been there since 2018 if I remember it right. I’m just not into amusement parks too much, but since I already have a kid, I think I need to somehow look for these kinds of entertainment and enjoyment more. Sky Ranch Baguio is smaller than those in Tagaytay and Pampanga. When we visited, only the Baguio Eye, Carousel, and Sky Cruiser were operational. Still, Mnemo enjoyed the Eye so much, she was jumping a little while I screamed.
+ Â 50php admission fee, separate ticketing per ride. Discounts apply for senior citizens and kids.
Bamboo Sanctuary
The Bamboo Sanctuary is under the care of a seminary and retreat home (gosh, I hope I’m correct, I am not in the mood to Google rn). I wanted to stay here longer if only Mnemo didn’t get bored fast. Imagine a fun, tiring day trip, and you wrap it up in a silent bamboo spot with hot coffee, a book in your hand, fresh air, bamboo scent.Â
+ Â 50php (or 100?) parking fee, no admission fee.
