Club Balai Isabel: your next go-to for a fun, relaxing weekend
Right after a super nice stay at Twinlakes, the team got to enjoy a very relaxing and fun weekend at Club Balai Isabel in Batangas. It really gave me a “homey” vibe, that I am excited to get back there with my family next time.
I super miss taking a break from everything and just relax in a nice hotel room minding nothing (except taking pretty pictures of the place and the food served huhu). Don’t get me wrong, I also make sure I have little breaks now that I am working from home. It’s just…why are you staying too long, COVID19???
Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here. I travel a lot for both work and leisure. Thanks to being an auditor and a content creator and, of course, to my love for travel, I barely feel I’m actually at work when traveling. And if I’m actually off work, I usually am with friends or family, discovering places and trying out new food. I’m juggling three jobs – the two mentioned + being a single mom. You think it’s easy? Of course not! But what glues me together is my passion and love for these three. More about my story here.
I love sharing what I know and how I do things, so if you haven’t read these yet, visit the following pages to view:
Even before, my family really loves going for an outing. So every year, I celebrate my birthday with the whole fam at beach or in a resort nearby. I’m a May baby, so I get double celebrations every summer – my birthday, and summer outings (ugh). And usually we go only for a day or two.
I’m already a bit familiar with Balai Isabel, but I don’t really recommend it before for our getaways because I knew just a night there was more pricey than in the usual resorts we go to. But whatevs. COVID19 made me realize saving money is important, yes, as well as having quality time with your loved ones. I’m actually saving up for something big, but I promise myself I won’t keep my fam away from these wonderful things, including Club Balai Isabel. As they say, “minsan lang naman“.

Our Club Balai Isabel Experience
It was my first time staying Balai Isabel, and thank you to my What To Eat PH and The PH Archipelago family for inviting me in. It was really a busy day as we just came from another food crawl shoot in Tagaytay so we just really wanted to take a rest and call it a day. But Club Balai Isabel was too pretty we can’t help but take a little more drive within the vicinity to take pictures!

We were welcomed by friendly staff and actually upgraded our room to a lakeside unit which was suppeeeer nice as it added more relaxing feels when we were hanging out in the balcony. There’s no wifi in most parts of the resort, but there’s a great internet connection in the admin office. There are couches in the office as well, if you need more time doing your homeworks . 🙂
They also have a huge poster outside the office showing you the resort’s map and details of the facilities.
Use of the eco shuttle service is also available to tour you around the resort, but it’s also nice to just walk around and feel more of the fresh air.
Our room’s building was quite old, that the kid in me was honestly imagining ghosts in the hallway (lol). There’s this old elevator as which really helped us with our things by the way, but feels creepy we don’t use it at night haha!
If you look beyond the “creepiness” or if old buildings doesn’t scare you that much, you’ll appreciate the vintage-ness of the resort which actually give you a very homey feeling. Imagine you grand grand mother leaving you all these beautiful land – that feeling.
Rooms
We got a lakefront family room that weekend. And if I take my mind away from the thoughts of seeing a ghost, I honestly felt super comfy. My favorite part was the balcony (funny I know I took a picture from there but I apparently lost it) as it makes me feel super cozy.

Dining
In every hotel stay, I look forward to the food they serve. Well aside from the complementary breakfast which should be indeed a great way to start a great day of the guests, I also expect even more yummier dishes from the ala carte menu.
Club Balai Isabel boasts their Terraza Restaurant which offers a lot of our Pinoy comfort food from Bulalo to Crispy Pata. Located right beside one of their pool areas (yep, so cool and cozy)n you sure will enjoy your dining experience whatever time of the day.
Must-tries
◘◘ Crispy Pata – deep-fried pork legs with their specially made vinegar dip
◘◘ Balai Bagnet – deep-fried pork belly served with salsa and special anchovies
◘◘ Chicken Inasal – a tasty chicken inasal which will make you forget asking for a sauce
Wrap-up
Overall, I really loved staying in Balai Isabel. Except from the scary hallways (specially on rainy days, by the way), I enjoyed everything Club Balai Isabel offered. Another thing I really loved is the fresh air while having a morning walk. Friendly tip: if you’re afraid of the dark (like m, obviously), just stay in your room at night. Better, get a room with balcony and just chill there until you’re sleepy!

I’m familiar with Club Balai Isabel, but I’ve never been there myself. I don’t remember where I learned it from, but I would for sure love to spend some much needed vacay time there. Hahaha

I’ve stayed in this resort two years ago during our company’s team building. It was a good experience and close to the city.
