What I love about Dean & DeLuca is that they offer healthy and organic dishes such as salads, pastas, sandwiches and pastries so unique that people will definitely come again and get more. Dean & DeLuca put the utmost pride and dedication into the quality and taste of their food, wherever they go.
One thing I love doing is trying out restaurants -even familiar brands- and (subconsciously) compare their dishes to other branch of the same brand, if that makes sense. Mostly, one big difference would be the service and ambiance, but most importantly, the quality of their food is what makes people come and dine again. Another thing I love about D&D is the quality and taste of the food are perfectly maintained wherever I try them.
The concept was founded by Joel Dean and Giorgio DeLuca on September 1977 at the now trendy SoHo (South of Houston) district in Manhattan, the two dreamed of a place where customers can experience and celebrate the best of food and the pleasures of eating can bring. Thirty-nine years later, Dean & DeLuca has expanded all over the globe, with stores in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Kuwait, and United Arab Emirates.
I’m sharing in this article my favorite dishes from D&D, regardless of which branch. But if you’re not yet familiar on D&D branches, here’s a link to Zomato, showing all the current branches of the restaurant within Metro Manila.
Dean & DeLuca House Salad
Their best-selling house salad indeed deserves the crown. Served with a plate of free-range lime-spiced chicken, organic mixed chopped greens, with corn, avocado or mango (mango this time!), sprinkled with tortilla chips, grated cheese, onions, chopped tomatoes, organic black beans, and ranch dressing. This is sooo yummy you’d want another order!
Yuzu Glazed Salmon
They offer healthy, balanced dishes including this salmon glazed with Yuzu – also known as yuzukosho, literally “yuzu and pepper”, a spicy Japanese sauce made from green or yellow yuzu zest, green or red chili peppers, and salt. The dish is served with garlic bok choy, and your healthy way of eating rice (yes, two more cups, please!) – Himalayan red rice.
Spicy Tuna Pasta
Dean & DeLuca Baby Back Ribs
If ribs’ on the menu, I’ll definitely order ribs. Two of my favorite rib dishes are from Bondi and Bourke, and Dean & DeLuca. This Baby Back Ribs is served with Dean & DeLuca Kansas barbeque sauce , truffle steak fries (or Himalayan red rice) and vegetable corn slaw. One serving is good for 2 persons, but I’d get this one for myself alone!
Blueberry Cheesecake
Best partnered with black coffee. Who doesn’t love a sweet blueberry cheesecake with coffee on the side? Best dessert everrrr!
