It was a rainy afternoon and J and I wanted some place to work on some important documents so I said “as labas tayo so we can focus” and where else would you go if you are to work on your laptop, need good coffee, and maybe food? We were walking along Bonifacio Global City in Taguig (I honestly wanted to try and hang out on the park somewhere there but it was raining, smh) and we passed through this cute, not crowded, “Instagrammable”, interesting cafe that I never have tried yet. And yes, they have wifi.

Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here. I travel a lot for both work and leisure. Thanks to being an auditor and a content creator and, of course, to my love for travel, I barely feel I’m actually at work when traveling. And if I’m actually off work, I usually am with friends or family, discovering places and trying out new food. I’m juggling three jobs – the two mentioned + being a single mom. You think it’s easy? Of course not! But what glues me together is my passion and love for these three. More about my story here.
I love sharing what I know and how I do things, so if you haven’t read these yet, visit the following pages to view:
Just beside Bonifacio High Street, there’s this hidden gem of a cafe. Not so crowded, nice ambiance, good food, great coffee all for a reasonable, not-so-expensive price. Their alfresco and internal dining area are boho-themed that add good (even better) vibes to their guests. While waiting (which is a bit short, btw) you’ll get a complimentary bowl of popcorn and glass of water. and by the way, I appreciate the materials they used for their interiors and menu. I mean, I loooooove.
We were just getting coffee (mainly because I was craving for chicken for dinner) and get the supposed work done, but their extensive menu was inviting enough to try at least one dish and of course, I chose chicken. Lol
I was a bit worried, because I am a little picky on flavors of fried chickens. But good news! El Jardin’s Chicken Gambas easily became a new fave! Perfect flavors both of the chicken and puree. It’s not super crispy which I looooove, it’s flavorful I almost ordered another plate.
The chicken could use one more minute or two in the pan, although I think it was not meant to be like that. (One reason to try the mal again lol.) But it’s worth the visit, and I really recommend this one. If you will, just be kind and remind the staff/chef that you are willing to wait for a well-cooked chicken.
For your first El Jardin coffee, you can never go wrong with some latte, hot or iced. J loved his hot coffee (better than the fancy brands, I guess) and I also liked mine – not too sweet and not too strong. Just perfect for a chill afternoon with some music on, and my Kindle if only I brought it. Lol.
One perfect addition to this cafe would be a selection of books guests can borrow for their stay. Although I understand the area is usually busy that staying for too long cannot be encouraged but for chill hours like the time of our visit, a book is a really great companion. Or you can bring your own, too. Lol. In general, the cafe is one of the bests (for me!) I have visited at least in BGC. Chill vibes, super good food, great coffee, and there’s wifi. All for affordable price. What more can you ask? Oh yeah, a book.
