Going out for a dinner with friends is never boring. But is it just us, having to talk about a barkada outing over a meal? While strolling through Japan Town in Glorietta, Makati, we stumbled upon an unfamiliar ramen restaurant and we all knew we gotta try it. While we plan for a relaxed itinerary for a summer getaway, here are the dishes that made us even more excited to go out and explore more cuisines.
Mitsuyado Ramen is a Japanese restaurant located in Makati, Philippines that specializes in serving delicious bowls of ramen and other Japanese dishes. The restaurant has a cozy, nice, and inviting atmosphere, with traditional Japanese decor you’ll love. The interior is one for the ‘gram, and of course each serving of their special menu can add more color to your gallery.

Red Spicy Ramen
As I scanned through the menu, I knew I need to get one hot bowl of their spiciest ramen. Of course, the one stands out is the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen – Red Spicy Ramen. I’ve had enough ramen cooked Manila-style, and I can say this one is really good. It’s not very spicy, though you can request to add more spice or sprinkle a little bit more of the togarashi. The taste is not too strong that you’d want to slurp that broth or just swim in it. Not kidding.
Charsiu Ramen
The Charsiu Ramen is one who looooves pork. Served with toppings of thinly sliced pork, my friend really enjoyed the dish along with her add-ons. The broth is gives a savory and umami-packed base for the noodles and pork. The noodles themselves are thick and chewy, providing a satisfying texture to the dish. Overall, if you’re a fan of ramen and pork, you’ll definitely want to give charsiu ramen a try!
Gyoza
In addition to their ramen dishes, Mitsuyado Ramen also offers a variety ala carte side dishes for full orders. Each dish is carefully crafted and features high-quality ingredients that are sure to satisfy any craving for authentic Japanese cuisine. And you guessed it, I will never skip a plate of gyoza while dining in a Japanese restaurant.
Gyoza is a delicious and one of the popular Japanese dishes that is definitely loved by Filipinos (a.k.a. me). Filled with a mixture of ground pork, garlic, and other seasonings, and are then pan-fried and leaving it juicy on the inside. The combination of flavors and textures is fantastic, and served with a savory dipping sauce that complements the dish perfectly.
Ebi Tempura
My kid though is a picky one. Never tried and not willing to try a ramen so I got her a serving of Ebi Tempura. Consisting of battered and deep-fried shrimp, a plate of ebi tempura is often served as a side dish or appetizer. The shrimp is typically lightly seasoned and has a crispy texture. A tasty and satisfying dish that is worth trying if you enjoy seafood and fried food, like my Mnemo.
Chicken Karaage
Another side you would want to get is the Chicken Karaage. Served with Japanese mayo (which I loooove), these bite-sized pieces of chicken are marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and other seasonings, then coated in a light layer of potato starch and deep-fried until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It is often served as an appetizer or snack, and is known for its delicious umami flavor and crispy texture.
The service at Mitsuyado Ramen is also exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff members who are always willing to provide recommendations and answer any questions about the menu. The restaurant is also well-maintained and clean, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all guests.
