Sundowners Vacation Villas: one of the coolest Santorini-inspired vacation villas in PH!

I’ve been seeing numbers of resorts and vacation houses inspired and actually feels like Santorini in Greece – white and clean, blue and relaxing, infinity pools overlooking the oceans, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. A perfect vacay for the family, friends or to be honest, an ideal get-away for solo travelers as well.

One of these beautiful vacay houses is the Sundowners Vacation Villas in Bolinao. On this article, I’m sharing my first experience in Sundowners and why and how I fell in love with the place. It may look and sound luxurious and expensive, but really, all the spends are worth it. Bolinao is one of the towns in Pangasinan – the third largest province in the Philippines. Located in the western area of the island of Luzon, this town is filled with pristine beaches, waterfalls, and of course very reach in seafood. Bolinao is also known as the fish basket of Pangasinan because of the 14 mile barrier reef located within its area at the mouth of the Lingayen Gulf. As such a variety of fishes are caught in the waters off Bolinao.*

Sundowners Vacation Villas is just a 5-hour drive from Manila. I took the bus, though, and it took me two to three hours more (thanks to heavy traffic and I don’t know, but the driver seemed to be enjoying a slow and safe drive).

Good news is, Sundowners Vacations Villas has No Corkage Fee policy, so you can bring in as many food and drinks as you can. You can cook your own food at the kitchen of your villa, and there is a restaurant within the vicinity offering great food as well.

PRE-TRAVEL GUIDE

How to get there? From Manila (usually either from Cubao or Pasay), book a bus ride to Bolinao, Pangasinan. Travel time is between 6 to 8 hours (based on experience, smh) depending on traffic. You can take trips via Victory Liner, or Five Star bus. From Bolinao station, take a tricycle to Sundowners or you can actually walk for around 1.3km from the bus station. Getting around Bolinao is easy as you can charter a tricycle to take you around and go to tourist spots. Best if you could drop by the Local Tourism Office for them to guide you on your Bolinao trip/tour.

OUR SUNDOWNERS EXPERIENCE

So I stayed in Sundowners’ Master Villa for three days and 2 nights with my fellow bloggers/vloggers. That’s the biggest in 26 villas in Sundowners Bolinao. Price is for 18 people but can accommodate up to 25 (even 30) pax – that’s how big this villa is! As Sundowner’s most premium villa, the Master Villa definitely will bring you more than what you expect.

We bought our own food to prepare and cook for dinner and breakfast (which I would also recommend if you are on a budget). You can buy enough food from a nearby market, just hire a tricycle to get you there.

We also really enjoyed the private pool and jacuzzi, where we spent hours bonding and food tripping.

TRAVEL TIPS

• If you have plans on staying in SUndowners Vacation Villas, it’s best to book your reservations 2 to 3 months in advance.
• ATM machines are available near the bus stations, if you need cash.
• Get your legs ready! You may need to go up and down staircases when exploring the place.
• Bring your own dish washing soap, toiletries. Bath towels are provided.
• Wash your used kitchen utensils before you check-out. Or, you can avail of their dishwashing service for a fee.
• They do not have a beach. Though the villas are overlooking the beach.
