Easy, Tiger: I know you’ll love this, too.

I like neutrals. And I also loooove vibrant colors, especially the colors blue, green, teal, orange, yellow, and some rusty browns. (Is it not obvious?) Basically the ones you will see in below photos. That cute front actually what caught my eye first – thanks to my glasses (not) sponsored by Sunnies Specs – then I came over and saw the picture of a pad thai and I thought I need to try you, Easy, Tiger.

Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here.  I travel a lot for both work and leisure. Thanks to being an auditor and a content creator and, of course, to my love for travel, I barely feel I’m actually at work when traveling. And if  I’m actually off work, I usually am with friends or family, discovering places and trying out new food. I’m juggling three jobs – the two mentioned + being a single mom. You think it’s easy? Of course not! But what glues me together is my passion and love for these three. More about my story here.

I love sharing what I know and how I do things, so if you haven’t read these yet, visit the following pages to view:

Just to share – I drafted this blog for too long and finally finished it on the 6th day because I literally have nothing else to say about it aside from “the food was delicious and we really enjoyed it”.

It was a one hot Thursday (???) afternoon when I decided to work in a co-working space in Makati. It was super nice and the day got even better because my loving J came to get me so we can have a quick date a.k.a late lunch. And since he also have to check something at the department store, we decided to go to the Mall of Asia and knowing MOA, almost all types and cuisine introduced to the Philippines probably you can also find in there and one good place to start a food trip is of course the mall’s Food Hall, also called Food Court by classic Pinoys (like myself, tbh).

Pre-COVID, our plan is to actually try out all stalls in the Food Hall whenever we go there. Unfortunately, it was closed for months due to the quarantine and safety protocols. And now that it’s finally open for dine-in guests again, (btw, this was taken June 2020)  we are going back to the plan – starting with some Thai food at the Easy, Tiger.

This was also my appetizer, and also my dessert. Judge me! I purposely ordered shrimp padthai because I don’t wanna share it with J (lol seriously bec he’s allergic but he tried a small bite anyways). I knew I needed two meals/dishes for late lunch because I’ve worked my brains too hard that morning so…

Anyway, this padthai definitely made it to my at least top 5 favorite padthais eveeeer. It’s not nakakasawa, it’s super tasty, and I love that the bean sprouts are raw and crunchy and fresh, I love that there are more than one shrimp (shout out to all one-shrimp restos!), I love the plating – laid-back yet appetizing.

For my main (HAHA) I got the chicken pandan and sate belly because girl, I miss the chicken pandan in Bicol! This one’s great as well, I liked that the flavor of the chicken was not too strong, I loooooove the dips though I’m not exactly sure what they are – I literally, honestly just enjoyed my lunch! The sate belly was perfect, even J loved it! My comment on the rice though – it’s much softer and watery than it should be, but in general I really enjoyed the meal and probably could be one of my go-to dish whenever I am too lazy to choose among the others.

J had the beef in red curry. If there is one dish J would try from different restaurants it’s curry. Who doesn’t love curry? The aroma, the perfect taste, the balance you get partnered with a perfectly cooked rice (which is ironic and unfair to me, btw). I loved the sauce – though I did not try the meat but J can vouch for it, he said it was yummy and he actually finished it, in fair.

I know I gotta stick with the plan of trying out all Food Hall stalls but trying other Easy Tiger dishes also is quite tempting. Maybe soon?

Easy, Tiger has multiple branches within the Metro, and for this article we visited their space in the SM Mall of Asia Food Hall. We had a random pick from their menu, and we loooved everything. Their space is quite small, but super nice, clean, colorful, and picture-worthy. So excited to check out other branches!

How about you?

I love Thai food my favorite is Pad Thai, one of their famous dishes. When we were deciding where to eat, my eyes (thanks to my very helpful pair of glasses) caught this beautiful picture of a Pad Thai dish and good thing my boyfriend loves Thai, too! How about you? What's your favorite Thai dish?
