Romblon Itinerary and DIY Travel Guide (3-day trip)

Romblon is an archipelagic province located in MIMAROPA (also known as Region IV-B consisting of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) region in the Philippines. I and my friends figured it’s less traveled compared to the famous Boracay, or Kalanggaman, or Palawan, so we knew we have to explore it first before it trends on social media and we’re caught with uncomfortable crowds. So I’m here sharing with you our quick and fun Romblon itinerary! The province is well-known for its local marble industry and it’s also one of the highest producer of the mineral in the country. Aside from being home of quality marbles, Romblon also attracts tourists with its…

#ProjectTutongSaRomblon: fun and awareness at Looc Fish Sanctuary, Tablas (Day 3 of 3)

Marine sanctuaries are indeed interesting. As I started to become an “island girl” (oh, missing the mountains already! Praying to gain back my strength, stamina, courage and whatever I need to go back hiking!), I learned (and learning) a lot about marine life. One favorite are coral reefs. I understand how hard it is to maintain these kinds of rehabs and sanctuaries, but I guess the government or private owners should stop their operations first if they see challenges in their facilities already. I mean, what is a million profits if that can provide only a couple of years of food for the family because the marine life you were…

#ProjectTutongSaRomblon: Sibuyan Island experience and travel guide (Day 2 of 3)

Here’s one of my favorite parts of our Romblon trip! Not only because it’s beautiful, Sibuyan Island is incredibly unique and remote that your vacay won’t be ruined because of overcrowded places. In fact, it was hailed as Galapagos of Asia as it is also home to a rich biodiversity and endemic flora and fauna. Before summer ended, I and my gorgeous friends had a quick 3-day trip, which took us months to plan. Basically because we needed to meet up and finalize the itinerary face-to-face, else we knew it’d be one of our beautiful “drawing” we’re keeping in frames. “Quick” because we tried hopping among the three main islands…

Home away from home: The Boathouse in Sibuyan, Romblon

One of our most-loved stay during our trip to Romblon was in The Boathouse in Sibuyan Island. Not only because their theme was fun and unique, the place was also comfy like we didn’t leave home.  When we hear or see the word “ROMBLON”, the first thing that comes to mind is “MARBLE” (or marmol, in Tagalog). But really, Romblon is more than just the “Marble Capital of the Philippines”. It’s also home to crystal clear beaches, healthy and rich marine life, very gentle and friendly people, and greeaaaat food. Romblon is one of the provinces of the Philippines with most kept beauty. This gem, are not always on the…

Cresta de Gallo: the best beach in Romblon!

The Philippines is a well-known home to wonderful views of mountain tops and beautiful islands and beaches. That’s basically one of the reasons why I want to travel my country first before going outside. Pinas is such a beautiful place, and I haven’t seen even half of it yet. Good thing this year’s summer trip, I got to explore another interesting province of PH – Romblon. And guess what – I finally got to swim the waters of Cresta de Gallo as well! New here? Read this! Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here.  I travel a lot for both work and leisure. Thanks to…
