Twin Rock Beach Resort Virac, Catanduanes
I’m more than proud that tourism in Catanduanes is slowly booming. I didn’t grow up there, I didn’t live there long enough to say I am from there, but I super love the place. Catanduanes is really very homey not because my parents were from there, but because it feels homey. However, as happy as I could be, I also am worried. You know what happens to an island when discovered and visited by irresponsible guests. Twin Rock Beach Resort is probably the most well-known resort in Catanduanes that if you are a tourist, it’s impossible no one would recommend it. The resort was beautiful, hence the fame. Unfortunately, we…

Binurong Point: a view from the top
One of the less-known (or less-shared) facts about myself is that I am a Bicolana. Both my mom and dad are from Bicol and all the relatives I know are speaking Bicolano. Though I was born and raised in Manila, my heart’s home is in Bicol. Every year, I and my family are to spend at least a week within April with the whole clan in Catanduanes to celebrate our Barangay’s patron, San Vicente. This year, I got a two-week vacation from work. Recovering from almost a year of PPD, I knew I really needed a long break. I traveled with the whole family, including Mnemosyne. It was here first…

Gigantes Island experience and travel guide
Islas Gigantes is one of the island hopping adventures I wanted to do ever since I fell in love with beaches. Not only it’s a famous trip, the islands are also very enticing and anyone would definitely want to visit it at least once. So when I got the time and chance to go on a vacay (even though I already have my darling Mnemosyne, thanks by the way, grandparents!), I included the tour in my itinerary, no questions asked. Oh, well of course, where is Islas Gigantes and what to do there. New here? Read this! Hey there! My name’s May and you can view more about me here. I…

Pros and cons of being a travel and tours joiner + tips and reminders for a happy trip
Deciding where to go is one thing. Deciding on how to go or what to do is another story. Personally, creating an itinerary is an exciting task, but very time consuming as well – considering the research, canvassing, up to polishing everything. Which is a very common reason why travel agencies as a business is booming. So there are basically two services these agencies can offer you – 1) they can help you book your transportation, accommodation and sometimes, even restaurant reservations; 2) they can organize a whole trip for you from itinerary proposals, to bookings, fees, food, etc. All you need, literally, is to be there at the exact…

Luxury Experience at Richmonde Hotel Iloilo
What are the most important things you usually look for in a hotel for the best staycation you are always planning? Mine’s simple – just a comfortable bed and a sweet platter of whatever it is for breakfast. It’s also nice when I’m staying alone and people around are just so warm. All that and more here in Richmonde Hotel Iloilo. Usually whenever I travel to a province or go for a long vacay from place to place, I don’t book fancy hotel rooms at all. Instead of spending too much for a comforter and air-conditioned bedroom, I’d prefer to stay the night in a simple yet affordable room in…
