#LockdownDiaries: food orders and recipes wrap-up
I get a lot of queries how much do I sell the food I was posting during quarantine and if I do deliveries. Sorry to disappoint, guys, but I’m not selling. I’m just another food blogger and a hungry customer. The least I can do is share where I got them from. Some of those were just cooked by myself, but again, not selling. Later on this page, I will also share the links to my recipes and some external ones I found in the internet.
Before we move on, please note that this article and other related posts linked on this page were not paid in any way nor sponsored by the brands I am mentioning. Since I am born “matakaw“, it’s just a perfect way to support small businesses especially during these trying times. So if you’re able, please do support your friends and neighbors and other small businesses you can reach by buying their products.
Also here to make it clear that while I support these businesses, I also am true to the quality of my reviews so expect very candid opinions from this blog. Happy reading, happy eating!
Local Orders
Takoyaki from Pers
If there’s one thing I see too often on my FB newsfeed and FB Market, that is takoyaki. Not only it’s super easy to make, but it’s also super yummy. So you for catering yummy food to lazy people like me.Â
I got my first takoyaki-at-home order from PERS, they offer free delivery within our area, I’m just not sure if they deliver in other places. This one’s a regular takoyaki order, but they also have octo-bits and baby octopus takoyakis.
Crinkles from Mara
I loooove crinkles and I’m kind of picky when it comes to choosing which crinkle I should eat. Sooo picky I loved only Ribonette’s. But it has became hard to find nowadays so I almost forgot these wonderful treats exist. But hey, thanks to my friend, Mara, for introducing me to a new, delicious brand.
Got them from my friend HERE. They deliver around Pasay and Paranaque, but if you’re planning to order in bulk, maybe you can make good negotiations?
California Maki by Rhea
Funny that I used to think Japanese dishes taste weird, but now they’re my fave. Well, except for sashimis and wasabi. And I also have good appreciation to different versions of Japanese cuisine. This California Maki made me miss Kaito during quarantine.Â
Got these good bites from an FB friend and neighbor, RHEA. They deliver for free within our local community.
Fries and fishballs from Risha
One of my favorite meryenda at work is Potato Corner, and I hate that it’s too expensive for a 5-minute of joy. *sad face* Good thing there’s an alternative for when you’re on a budget. Hello, DIY flavored fries!
Got the fries from RISHA, which gives the cheapest I’ve bought so far. They also deliver for free within our area. While the powders I got from THIS SHOP via Shopee.
Buffalo Wings by Maine
Yes, I love a lot of food, but my forever love is chicken. *hearts emojis* Show me some chicken wings and I’ll eat ’em. Here’s one good buffalo wings from one of my friends, MAINE. It’s not too spicy, but it’s perfect for ulam, papak, pulutan, and anytime. They deliver within our area.
Apple Squares by Mariella
Mariella is one of my favorite bakers ever since I had my first cupcakes from her shop. She also baked Mnemo’s cupcakes for the baby shower, and I really looooved her Alfajores as well.Â
Her Apple Squares is her newest special and it’s perfect for me! Imagine your usual apple pie, in the shape of a bite-size brownie, topped with cinnamon oats. It’s healthy and amazingly good. I didn’t like it at first because I’m not really a big fan of cinnamon, but I tried it with hot, black coffee and I guess I’ll be ordering more.
Got them from GLAZED BY MARIELLA. You can have your orders delivered anywhere within Metro Manila.
Kimchi by Jon
I know you’re falling more and more in love with K-dramas and your Korean oppas, but I’m just too busy falling in love with Korean and Korean-inspired dishes. Here’s a breakfast suggestion: Pancit Canton Spicy-mansi, egg, Spam, and kimchi!
Thanks to another FB angel, JON. They deliver your orders for free within Brgy. 201, Pasay.Â
Home Recipes
Creamy Garlic Chicken
I’m slowly learning to cook different dishes found on the internet, and I’m happy! Next time my goal would be to invent my own dish (which I don’t have time to work on yet), but for now I’m sharing one of my favorites I learned during ECQ. Read more about the recipe HERE.
Tofu Sisig
Are you health conscious? Or you just want to try lessen your meat diet? Tofu is one of the best go-to for new recipes, either way. One of my favorite tofu recipes is the tofu sisig. In this article, I’m sharing a simple tofu sisig recipe I made during the holy week. Read more HERE.
Chao Fan
I loooove rice, and I am super crazy about everything fried rice! From the classic garlic, to a very flavorful version from East Asia – I love them all. But I was hesitant at first to try cooking it on my own because I thought it’s super complicated and that I’d just waste money for it. But hey, here we are. Read the recipe HERE.
Chicken Sandwich with Melted Cheese
I loooove all my cooking so far (wow buhat ng sariling bangko) but this one’s my top fave. I haven’t posted this in the blog yet, but here’s a post on my FB PAGE on how I did it. It’s a newly-launched page, but since you’re already on your way there, please help me grow my engagements and click the LIKE and FOLLOW buttons!
If you’re selling some yummy food, find your prettiest customer HERE (hehehehe) and let me help a little to expand your growing numbers of customers.
And before I forget to mention: I am well aware that while we have the convenience of choosing and buying foods we like, some of families are struggling to have at least one meal a day. I case you need help or if you know someone who needs it more, please feel free to contact me anytime through connect@themhayonnaise.com. I will find ways to extend a hand within Metro Manila, and if you’re out my reach, I’ll help you with some connections. We’ll get through this! May our God bless us all. Spread love!
