#LockdownDiaries: the supposed-to-be kiddie party

Excuse my lots of collages in this post as I’m trying to revive my artsy and fancy self these days.

Lucky years

Weeks before PDuts declared the ECQ, I planned and booked a kiddie party in Jollibee for Mnemo and her future friends. Yep, she doesn’t have any friends yet.

She just turned 2 and and I feel like a lucky mom as she didn’t have any request for her bday (at least not yet) – anything from cakes to toys to parties. I wonder until what age she stays this way. Lol.

It feels like the small inflatable pool worth 200php her auntie bought her was enough. Her playing imwith her old toys while wearing her old dress was enough. Us having lunch and dinner together was enough. She was soooo happy and excited and we’re all happy and excited, too!

Our food for four days

So a day before Mnemo’s birthday, I gave 2k to my sister as she was tasked to go to the wet market to buy these favorites for our planned home boodle fight. She got 2 kilos of mussels, 1 kilo of squid, 1 kilo of pork liempo, 1 kilo of tilapia, 1 1/2 kilo of shrimp, 1 kilo of ripe mangoes, 1 kilo of indian mangoes, more than a kilo of bananas.

We cooked them all for lunch for Mnemo’s birthday celebration and it took us two days to consume them all. Yeah, Pinoy practice.

Also part of the 2k were 1 kilo of chicken, kilos of sayote, garlic, onion, pineapple, sweet potato, a dozen of egg, and we’re not what else. All. In. Two. Thousand. Pesos.

We’re not sure how this ECQ will turn out or until when are we going to live with fear, but I know what we all want is just this virus to go away. Whenever I post happy pictures, I don’t mean for people to look at it in a negative way. Please know that we’re not celebrating this pandemic, but we are doing the best we can to stay away from drowning in depression.
