Review: Philips Avent Breast Pump and Storage

For the remaining weeks of my maternity leave, I know I have to start preparing for breast milk storage already. I am still having second thoughts on using storage bags, though. I read an article of its pros and cons, so I think for now I will have to stick with storage bottles first before considering bag brands.

Speaking of brands, for Toyang’s milk collection and storage, I currently use Philips Avent. Though it’s very expensive, it is almost always the top choice for newborns so as a first time mom, I feel like I have to invest on the best brand (fyi, I’m not always this brand conscious) for my baby.

So I have this single manual breast pump, storage bottles, and of course the natural feeding bottle.

I actually thought of writing or making a video of how to assemble a breast pump, because I honestly had noooo idea about it before. Fortunately, Baby Security already made one. I’ve been using it since Toyo started needing more milk and so far it’s great. It’s easy to use, very portable, and easy to clean, plus the comfort and security of using the brand.

A Natural feeding bottle is also included in the package when you buy one. Which is nice because of its design imitating a natural breast.

Toyo is actually matakaw, and that’s one of my daily challenge. Lol. Normally, moms use storage bags for the expressed milk. There are Avent bags as well, but storage bags are not recommended to be used more than once. I’m not saying I’m not gonna try, but as I mentioned earlier, Avent is a very expensive brand.

Good thing they also have storage bottles. You can buy a pack of 10 which is already good if you’re not travelling a lot. I mean, I don’t have plans yet of having a trip longer than two days, and I am going home naman every day so bottles are already good for me. I just need to store it in the freezer or insulated bag.

Wrapping up:

These items are best for moms who doesn’t have any idea where or with what brand or kind to start off. It is also easy to use, easy to clean, very minimalistic, plus they are sold at any SM stores or you can buy it online as well. Your money’s worth it, and your baby will love it, too! Beware of fake ones/ imitations though!
