The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Are you looking for good books talking about travels? Well, I was and a couple of articles I read suggested The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This is my second time reading it so I thought maybe write a review about it. So okay.

Title: The Alchemist
Author: Paulo Coelho
My Review Rating: ★★★★☆
Goodreads Synopsis: Paulo Coelho’s masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His quest will lead him to riches far different, and far more satisfying, listening to our hearts, of recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life’s path, and, most importantly, to follow our dreams.

Hey, guys! So I’m here again, reading books and writing reviews about them. I know you are expecting more travel and food articles (I do, too, tbh) but I’m a busy lady and I’m more scared of mixing with the crowd than losing my blog visits so super thank you if you’re still here supporting me.

We’re kinda busy at work, too, wrapping up the monitoring reports we had the past 10 months and drafting our calendar for the next year but I still have spare time (mostly at night) to work on my blog, online courses, and -UHUH- read books. Today, I’m going to  share my thoughts on one of Paulo Coelho’s books, The Alchemist. It’s my second time reading this, and I put three stars up there ^ for some reasons but generally, I loved the book!

"When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too."
Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

The book version I got was published September 9th 2014 by HarperOne and was translated by Alan R. Clarke. Yep, I personally don’t mind who the translator is (and I’m honestly sorry!) and let’s be honest, they don’t usually get highlighted. This book made me realize translators should be recognized as well and I just am so thankful for the people who translate books to make it more understandable, I mean that’s the purpose why we are writing books, right? To share stories and make people feel what we want them to feel. And Alan made it really effective and easy at least for me. No need to Google everything I mean YEY!

Other than literally travelling, the main character inspired us in a lot more things in life and I love that. It wasn’t the travel novel I was really looking for, but re-reading it reminded me more of why and how much I want to travel (I mean really go on a trip) already. The storytelling is great, if you could see my epub copy you’ll notice I over-annotated as almost every page has a couple or more quotable statements. I love how the book highlighted faith, hope, and inspirations because, you know, we all have dreams and though we can strive for it ourselves, we sometimes need someone who can tell us we can do it. *Cheers* Overall, this book is great and even in second time reading it. Definitely one of the books I’d read as many more times.

I needed a couple of weeks to finish  this book because I am a very busy woman (lol, not kidding). But I am trying to read more books these days because I feel like my vocabulary needs a reboost. I mean, eh.

If you need some inspiration on the journey you’re in now, The Alchemist is one of the best books to get you going.
