Food

We literally opened the doors of La Vie Parisienne and had wine for coffee!

I went to Cebu for a quick training which I normally do ever since I started my corporate job. What’s not usual is me going on a food trip instead of visiting tourist spots like parks, museums, temples, churches, etc. This time, I spent my day just eating all the pagod away and it was just as fun as you could imagine. #SanaAll.

After breakfast (at H Cafe in Harold’s and Tablea Chocolate Cafe), my friend and I busted La Vie exactly one minute before opening. We literally opened La Vie’s doors that morning. I mean, Dan literally had the key and opened the doors of La Vie.

He’s not part owner, I’m not sure how he got the keys, but there already are staff inside who maybe gave him the key (wtf, was I too busy texting??) so we were not trespassing. OKAY.

Disclaimer: I had less than a glass of wine which is totally safe for travels, but please do not do the same and stay nice and sober!

Yep, we had wine at 9am. I had less than half of white wine, while Dan enjoyed the whole bottle. I’m not really a fan of wines, except red and when partnered with steak or any meat. Anyway, La Vie offered pastries and other dishes as well, but since I was already super full, we just ordered cheese and wine and a nice cup of ice cream. Tip: best ice cream flavor at La Vie: dark chocolate! (Or I just lovechocolates unconditionally?)

I travel a lot, and one of my biggest problems is I quickly get sunburns even along my ride to somewhere. But you know what, I finally found my skincare routine best for after-summer vacays. Here’s how I take care of my sun-burnt skin. Aside from sunburns and an empty wallet, what else do I get from traveling, by the way?

Moving on, another challenge is thinking of how can you make your story interesting enough to get people to listen or read your page. Photos! People love viewing photos more than reading detailed stories, so no matter how much information you have you still have to own a technique on editing your photos. Here’s mine.

La Vie is known not only for their wide variants of drinks but also their very pretty interiors which IG people love. In fact, as a first timer who had absolutely no idea what La Vie is, I thought it was just an ordinary resto bar judging by the looks of it outside. The bar is located right beside a main road and it literally looks like your typical Manila bar.

We came in, and whoa. We were welcomed by pastries which really smelled delicious. We came in further and I saw giant shelves of different kinds of wine and champagne and I thought, oh I’m going to get back here some night.

La Vie Parisienne literally translates to “Parisian Life”. Inspired by French architecture and interiors, this bar really is a nice place for all kinds of titas – whether you need to fill yourself with pastries, get yourself drunk, or just want a set of beautiful pictures for your social media. I just don’t have pictures of the garden area because I was too busy eating my ice cream, but see those shots from the inside? The garden is much more Instagrammable, I’ll go back with my nicest fairy dress just for photo op.

The place is just sooooo pretty, I need to share at least some of my favorite shots on the next page.

La Vie Parisienne is located exactly at 271 Gorordo Avenue, Lahug, Cebu City. They’re open from 9am to 3am during weekdays, and 10am to 4am on weekends. For inquiries you may contact (032) 260-4388 or (032) 505-0274. Get updated and follow their Facebook: @LaVieParisienneinCebu
