The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Like most of the books in my TBR (to be read), The Kite Runner has been sitting beside my desk for a long time until I decided to pick it up for my 52 Book Club 2022 challenge as a book with a plot/story set in two different continents. It also happened this is one of the book mentioned in The Reading List by Sarah Nisha Adams – a book I really enjoyed. Plus, it is also one of the books from Rory’s read list – if you know Gilmore Girls. I knew The Kite Runner was an emotional book, I knew it. But I wasn’t ready for the tears,…

Book Haul: 13 new books on my shelf that I won’t read anyways (or at least not yet)
I bought books and I'm not reading them. Not yet. I mean who does? We buy books to throw them somewhere at home. You're fortunate if you have a beautiful shelf, but in my case, I have this empty drawer and so I made them full. Or at least almost. I'm not reading these books because I have a long list of TBR before the year ends and to be honest I don't know if I can finish actually them in two months. So maybe expect more reading vlogs featuring 2021 book trends on the first quarter of 2022. But that's okay. Books are forever.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins-Reid
This is my first time reading Taylor Jenkins Reid (or at least that I know of, because I didn't really care about the authors when I was younger and I hate myself for that) and I must say I am very much happy I picked up a book that I loved the writing style. There are hundreds of new novels that are released everyday and they're all good it's kinda getting hard to choose which one to get and actually read. And honestly, I had a few books I've DNFed because the writing style didn't actually fit me and I just got more irritated and annoyed and disappointed the whole…

My rules in reading (you have my permission to steal this list)
I’m not sure if I’ve already said it or if you already heard from my vlog (yes I have a YT channel you may want to subscribe to! haha) but I just got back from my ~decade~ of reading slump. I got there (the slump) because of all possible things such as budget (yeah), time (oh yes), inspiration (maybe?) and many more I could tell just to justify my non-reading years. It was looong enough that I honestly forgot how much I love reading and sitting comfy and cozy and just enjoy coffee and books. Until I started reading again. And what got me out of that awful slump? COVID…

Mexican Gothic by Sylvia-Moreno Garcia
Mexican Gothic follows the story of Noemi Taboada, a glam, rich kid (tbh, sana all??) living her life freely in the city - partying, hanging out with friends, drinking, smoking. His father received this weird letter from her cousin, Catalina who married a man from the countryside. Catalina talked about how his husband was poisoning her, she talked about ghosts, spiders, snakes, and everything creepy. Noemi's dad suspects Catalina should be needing a psychiatrist so just to be sure, he convinced Noemi to visit the countryside and check on Catalina. Noemi went, though when she arrived, Catalina's new home felt creepy and old and weird. Noemi's stay in the mansion…
