Food

Eat up: There is a new food hub in QC and here are 9 of the most interesting stops!

Figuring out where and what to eat has been a problem of many especially here in the city. Food choices are everywhere that you cannot even decide what to try. Food chains, food carts, and even food hubs are quickly growing. You just have to decide, “do I want to taste something new?” of “do I really have to stick with the familiar?”

The first thing I noticed about this new food hub in Quezon City is that they mostly highlight food concepts that are new to my eyes.Well, except from the food, the place also is nice and Instagram-worthy. There even are spots where you can take photo-ops with your friends!

Devour Food Hub actually started their operations last November 2017, but they formally opened to the public April 2018. There are more than twenty interesting stalls that are more than ready to give you their best items in the menu, and here are 11 of them and their best bets that made our tummies super full.

Slammin’

I’m not sure if you’re already familiar with these little burgers. Slammin’ already has their name in the burger industry (owning more than five outlets within Metro Manila), but not everyone have tried it. (Please add more outlets, Slammin’!) They are initially known as “Slammer Burgers” (2004), then rebranded to “Slammin'” in 2013, adding some new burger recipes.

If you are looking for a good finger food, Hot Bites will never disappoint. All the mixes they offer are sooo good, taking some more home would be a great idea. Some of the best shots we had are Korean Sweet and Spicy Bites, Loaded Bites, and some Potato Chips. And wait, they also have Salted Egg Bites!

They have a special combo: six pieces of chicken and two potato pancakes. The chicken has sweet taste, that is perfect for sweet chilli sauce. The meat is also tender and soft. the pancakes doesn’t have that rich flavor though, but when partnered with the sour cream and onion sauce, it is actually great.

Yumi Ako

One of their best–sellers is the Triple Cheese Gyudon Starving Size. It’s literally a large serving, which is actually enough for 2 (solo size also available!). It tastes so good, that it’s enough even without any other condiments or spices.

We also had a Tempura Rice Bowl. The tempura were crispy and tastes good with tendon sauce.

Interesting fact: the owners are mix of German and Filipino, but they are lovers of Japanese food!

Fun fact: Yumi Ako – sounds like “yummy ako” a Filipino humour meaning “I taste good.”

I really got excited when I saw Soul Potato’s menu! As a lover of potatos, I expect too much from restaurants on how they level up this simple food. Well except from this yummy side dish, people also look forward to every meal they are having with it.

Barnyard Milk and Cookies

One of the best cookies and can be ordered with assorted flavors! There’s this oatmeal chocolate chip (personal favorite!) dark chocolate brookie, and of course, the classic chocolate chip. All of these cookies taste great. And each has distinct flavour that will surely satisfy your forever cravings. What makes the cookies more yummy, is that they bake them all freshly everyday!
