The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Title: The Great Gatsby  Author: F. Scott Fitzgerald Genre: Classic, Historical Fiction, Romance My Review Rating: ★★★★ Goodreads Description: Jay Gatsby is the man who has everything. But one thing will always be out of his reach … Everybody who is anybody is seen at his glittering parties. Day and night his Long Island mansion buzzes with bright young things drinking, dancing and debating his mysterious character. For Gatsby – young, handsome, fabulously rich – always seems alone in the crowd, watching and waiting, though no one knows what for. Beneath the shimmering surface of his life he is hiding a a silent longing that can never be fulfilled. And soon this…

The Great Catsby by B.K. Baxter

Title:The Great Catsby (A NOLA Tail Mystery #1) Author: B.K. Baxter Genre: Cozy Mystery, Thriller My Review Rating: ★★★★ Goodreads Description: Watch what you wish for… Some inheritances are literally death. My life has been turned upside down by my inheritance, but my only complaint is the cat that came along with the new house. I swear he’s judging me as I settle in and try to make new friends in my new small-town Louisiana neighborhood. And just when I start to settle into my new job and get back to reading my classic novels, I’m pulled chapters deep into a mystery. The Beauty Queen in the town has been offed.…

Good food and good memories at Cafe Janealo, Intramuros

In 2018, we discovered this cafe just beside the Manila Cathedral. We got together there with my family and closest friends to celebrate over lunch Mnemo’s baptism. It’s called Cafe Janealo. And I visited there twice more after the baptism lunch, but since the pandemic lockdown, I think it’s just now that we got to eat there again.  We planned to have a picnic in Fort Santiago, but the rain came killing the joy. So we hopped restos instead. A little bit. We had our coffee at Papa Kape inside the Fort Santiago, and for dinner, we checked out the new Cafe Janealo which felt nostalgic lol kala mo katagal…

    Free Fun at Craft Academy

Craft Academy, located within Ayala Malls Manila Bay, is a one-stop destination for all crafting enthusiasts, kids or adults. They have a wide variety of crafting materials, tools, and workshops to offer that will surely cultivate creativity and inspire you to unleash your ~artsy~ self! And what’s more exciting is you can actually access their spot for FREE! Of course, other activities and materials will require an add-on or you will have to purchase. Last time, we spent almost an hour, enjoyed peace while my kid was playing among other kids, I had a chance to shoot some balls (lol) and had some cute Insta photos without paying for anything.…

Coffee and chill at Papa Kape, Fort Santiago, Manila

The City of Manila is one of our go-to places and if my family and I feel like picnic-ing, we go to the famous Intramuros. It was a very sunny day in Pasay and we thought let’s go have a picnic and enjoy the sunny/windy feels in Manila. Twelve kilometers after, the rain came and we never had the chance to sit on the grass and enjoy a cup of coffee or whatever. Good thing is, as we walked along Fort Santiago we saw this new coffee shop which apparently just opened first quarter of this year. The ground was still wet, but at least we found a home at…
